Words – to paper … sometimes the hardest thing in the world to do. Lately though, I just compose these incredible things (be they lists, blogs, letters and memos to Sam, that sound awesome in my head, but get my hand near a pen – and watch out … I’m deadly. Nothing has come out right!
The same can be said with my fiber! I have yarn on top of yarn, design on top of pattern all ready at the go and I sit here frogging – again – another latest and greatest. I can’t seem to make a square, a hat or a scarf hold true to pattern. The fiber is all wrong, the texture isn’t right, or (this is my favorite) why do I even bother when … (you fill in the blanks).

I think I’m burnt out. I don’t know. I’ve made a few gifts already (although I’m thinking of getting a craft booth with a few fellow crafters this fall and selling things) and well that though lasts about an hour and then I tell myself how silly that is.

I’ve been dyeing a good amount of yarn lately. But even that, doesn’t seem to keep my interest. Randall (one of our costume designers at work) says sometimes you just gravitate to particular colors and I should go with it, but I can’t seem to break from the vibrate blue, greens and purples.
I tried – Really! And I ended up coming up with THIS:
I’ve even started turning to friends on Ravelry to say HELP… but that’s not working… I’m ALMOST tempted to try socks again but we all know that will lead to loud swearing and lots of broken needles. I need to be back in New England – I need to have a reason to play with yarn. I think I’ve exhausted all there is for fiber in my mind in Southern California. I think I need a vacation to the Arctic!Hmm … so words went to paper today now maybe I can get yarn to needles ... maybe

Oh, I hear ya.....I just can't seem to get my knitting "mojo" back. I don't know what my deal is. Maybe it is the weather. Maybe I need a trip back east too!! Anyway, keep making the blues and greens, the yarn is beautiful!!
Your colors certainly are beautiful!
I sent you an email, but you did not answer so I thought I'd try to contact you this way. You are my pal in the summer dishcloth exchange! Someone, somewhere (me in ---) will be putting together a package of goodies for you!
I have to say that on my very recent visit, I found it to be rather chilly at times in sunny San Diego. I had a jacket and a silky wool poncho with me, but I wished I had brought a cozy sweater. And my wool socks (from YOUR yarn) were lovely on my feet, especially at night :>) I will admit that I only made ONE square all day Tuesday as we were flying back east -- just too pooped to pop, I guess!

You can come visit me I live in california also:)Hugs Darcy
It's the damn heat! Getting to everyone. I know I'm having a hard time staying on one project, keep losing interest... And Chan feels the same way at the moment.
Although I have to say your purple yarn is to dye for!
